Different states have different state laws to ensure that every citizen is getting his equal rights. In USA, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 is implemented which ensure that every citizen gets his rights. The discrimination among citizens on bases of their race, color, caste, creed or sex is outlawed by this act.

This act has given more powers under amendments like equal protection to every citizen. Another landmark of this act is giving voting rights to citizen and ensuring that their right to vote is protected. This act also ensured that there will be no discrimination against any one in any of the public place either it is public accommodation or public facilities. Any kind of desegregation in educational institution will not be entertained.
